No matter how strong my hair spray is – Berlin wind is stronger! :D To be honest, I cannot even remember the last time I was really content with the way my hair looked in my outfit pics. But hey, that ist not what WHAT PIXIES WEAR is about: My posts are so much more about showing you that sustainable fashion can be fun and affordable. Contrary to most other fashion and personal style bloggers, I only spend about 100€ a month on clothes – that’s roughly the amount I earn from selling what I don’t wear anymore.
For all the things I buy, there is one rule: I want them to be as fair and sustainable as possible. With my small budget, that means buying second hand a lot! For more than one year, I have been trying to shop pre-loved clothes as much as possible, no matter if it’s online or offline. I love to find one-of-a-kind pieces that I could never find in regular shops. And even if I am looking for a particular trend, or something I have been seeing on a lot of bloggers or in magazines: Second hand stores are sure to have it. Fashionistas like me use online platforms to sell their unworn clothes (that way I found the oh-so-trendy button down denim skirt everyone was wearing last year) and if you cannot find the exact item you are looking for, you will definitely find something in the same style.
I love love love to show you that you don’t have to run into fast fashion stores and buy the latest trends week after week to make your fashionista soul visible to the world. The maxi dress you see in these pics was bought on a flea market for 10€! After wearing it a few times, I have stocked up my maxi dress game with two more vintage dresses for the summer that lies ahead – in a popular Berlin second hand store for 6€ a dress. Now show me the fast fashion retailer that can keep up with that price! ♥
