A wonderful, happy and exciting 2016 to you all, lovelies! I hope you had a lovely New Year’s Eve and didn’t party too much. ;) I, for my part, stayed at home this time and fell asleep soon after midnight so I can still enjoy the last few sunny (!) days I get to spend here in Austria.
Since I have posted an outfit recap a few days ago already, I thought it might be nice to talk a bit about my resolutions: The ones I had for 2015 and the ones I will have for the new year. Last year, I decided to become a more conscious consumer and for the most part, I managed to buy less and shop more sustainably. I tried to pay more attention to whether my clothes were produced under fair circumstances (which didn’t work out all the time, to be honest) and I definitely put more thought into whether I really needed the pieces I wanted to buy.
Within the last year, I got rid of most of my material possessions and learned to value immaterial things and experiences more. I am far from where I want to be but I know I am totally on the right way. I know who I want to be, what I want to reach and more than anything else, I know what I do not want in my life anymore. 2015 broadened my horizons. And I want to thank each and every person who played a part in this. <3
For 2016, there will be no major changes for me – and also no major resolutions. Just this one: Make the world a better place. Sounds simple, and it kind of is. But it’s also pretty complex – of course I want to keep on buying conscious, fair and sustainable clothes. I will also pay more attention to the impact my behaviour has on our planet: I want to avoid useless trash as much as possible. And I want to spend more time helping other people. Sounds pretty unspecific, right? It is. But to what extent my goals will be doable for me will show itself when the years starts to get going. Baby steps, my dear readers, baby steps.
Do you have any resolutions for the new year? Feel free to leave me a comment below!
