You might have realized that since I have moved to Berlin, there are a lot less personal style posts here on WHAT PIXIES WEAR. That’s not only because moving to another country takes a lot of time and includes a lot of work, but also  because it’s been my New Year’s Resolution to develop a more sustainable shopping behaviour.

Time and time again, we buy tons of cheap clothes without even thinking about it. The clothes’ quality is mostly terrible, so it’s thrown into the trash to rot away far too soon. To be honest, I just can’t and won’t be part of this any longer, so at the moment, I am at a point in my life where I thing twice before I buy anything to avoid as much waste as possible. When we go shopping on Saturdays (which we obviously do a lot), I usually come home empty-handed, but with a head full of inspirations and new ideas.

I think it’s a lot of fun hunting down these trends and ideas on second hand shopping platforms, and you won’t believe how many girls simply do not need their newly shopped clothes after wearing them once or twice. For a newbie, finding thrifted treasures can be quite difficult, so here is my personal second hand shopping guide featring my favourite online platforms.

Second Hand Shopping Guide | WHAT PIXIES WEAR – Fashion Blog

Kleiderkreisel

Kleiderkreisel is my absolute favourite when it comes to second hand shopping. This platform is based in Germany, but if you live abroad, don’t fear – Kleiderkreisel has got worldwide connections and is simply known as Vinted in most countries. If you roughly know what you are looking for, you will definitely find it on here.

Kleiderkorb

Kleiderkorb is also a German platform and similar to Vinted. The community is not as big and the website itself doesn’t seem too trendy, but if there is something particular you are looking for, you should definitely give this place a try.

Mädchenflohmarkt

Another German second hand platform, Mädchenflohmarkt is probably the most trend-led of them all. It’s perfect for some online window shopping and you are most likely to stumble upon something you want everytime you visit the website. It’s built up very much like a regular online shop with the hidden bonus that every item is pre-loved and you are doing something against waste production. Yay! ;)

Rebelle

Rebelle is your place to go when you are looking for used luxury and designer items. They operate internationally and everything sold through the platform is garantueed to be original. So if you are looking for that last-season pair of ankle boots you love so much or that sold out designer collab piece, Rebelle is your online shop.
