The first show I saw this week for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin was Rebekka Ruétz. The Austrian designer’s creations are among my favorites each season and so it happened with her Spring/Summer 2016 collection as well. Her main inspiration this time was Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. The models presented fresh and feminine looks that had a clear connection to summer heat, thanks to the choice of colours like mauve, papaya, orange and grenadine pink. This feeling was even emphasized through the designer’s signature mix of materials and textures.
