With three years in business, Co is one of the newer brands on my radar. With each of their collections, the creative duo behind the brand – LA-based Stephanie Danan and Justin Kern – strives to “create a line of luxury essentials that together form a considered, cohesive wardrobe.” Their focus lies on feminine clothes, infused with elements of ease and polish, but always practical.
Their collection for Spring/Summer 2015 is inspired by Parisian ballet dancer Aurélie Dupont – an inspiration clearly visible in every single piece. Ballet may seem like such a romantic influence at first, but Danan and Kern managed to keep the will and determination of a ballerina clearly visible in every design – without ever weighing the the light and airy designs down. Unique silhouettes and intricate details meet feminine ruffles. Together, they build a sophisticated collection in creamy white and darkest black, infused with touches of nude and navy blue.
Delicate fabrics and ballet influences find their perfect match in fierce and even unnatural poses.
