leather ballet flats spring style WHAT PIXIES WEAR fashion blog

As much as I love heels and all the advantages that come with them for a petite girl like me, my all-time favourite and go-to pair of shoes will always be black leather ballet flats.

They’re perfect at showcasing your outfit while staying in the background themselves, which makes them a great choice for work, where my uniform mainly consists of cute dresses or skirts with printed tights. On weekends, I love them with cuffed jeans (please, will someone get me a Levi’s 501?), a crop top and bright red lips for a stylish but laid-back look. ♥

With something I wear so much and so often, I definitely choose to have quality over quantity for once in my life ;) But with something I wear so much and so often, it’s also clear they will wear out sooner or later (and there’s nothing worse than a pair of shabby shoes), so I’m on the constant lookout for a possible replacement.
The perfect pair of ballet flats has to be made of leather inside and out – no compromises. And now that summer is on its way, the thinner the leather, the better. As simple as that sounds, they’re not always that easy to find! I did find some pretty great choices on FASHION ID, and will definitely keep these ballet flats by Liebeskind in mind for whenever my precious pair wears out.

Now what about you – what’s your go-to pair of shoes? Loafers, trainers or even Birkenstocks? I can’t wait to hear about your choices in the comments below ♥
